Sessions

A series of interactions or visits that occur when someone visits a website.

A session is basically similar to a visit, it starts when a user enters your site and ends when they leave. The same user can have multiple visiting sessions.

A metric in Google Analytics that measures a user's interaction with a website over a of time that Google defaults to 30 minutes. The session does not depend on the number of page views. So if a person visits a website and views several pages in 20 minutes, that counts as 1 session.
